Grounded in Wholeness – Healing the Inner Masculine
6 June 2025Reflections from the Masterclass with Shaka Xolani – 19 May 2025
Author: Cindy Holmes
In a world that seems to spin faster each day—where headlines blur into each other, technology outpaces breath, and the hum of urgency never quite fades—there is a quiet need emerging. A need to feel. To pause. To come home to ourselves.
On a cool May evening, the International School of Intuition and Healing opened that kind of space.
Led by psychic, yoga teacher, and empathic guide Shaka Xolani, and hosted by ISIH Director Cindy Holmes, the masterclass “Sensitivity in a Speeding World” became a gentle refuge. It was an offering for the sensitives, the feelers, the overwhelmed. A healing moment in a time that rarely allows for stillness.
Grounding the Nervous System in a World on Fire
Cindy welcomed the community with heartfelt presence, speaking to the heart of the gathering: healing for those who feel deeply in an increasingly disembodied world.
Shaka then guided participants through a series of embodied practices—vigorous movement to shake loose the static, breath-led flow to soften the edges, and a deeply calming six-breath technique that anchored everyone into their own bodies. What followed was a wave of resonance. Words filled the chat: calm, rooted, released, peaceful, alive.
In that virtual space, the collective nervous system began to exhale.
The Meta-Crisis and the Empath’s Burden
Shaka’s teachings invited us into deeper inquiry—not just about our inner landscapes, but about the world we inhabit. She named what many feel but cannot easily articulate: that we are living through a meta-crisis. A convergence of climate collapse, social instability, political fragmentation, and technological saturation. The noise is not only external—it enters our systems, especially those who are porous, intuitive, and energetically attuned.
Empaths often carry the weight of both personal and collective pain. It shows up as fatigue, anxiety, confusion, or a sense of deep disconnection. But rather than framing this sensitivity as a flaw, Shaka reframed it as medicine.
“What if your greatest wound becomes your greatest medicine?”
In a world that teaches suppression, this was a radical invitation—to feel fully, to listen to the body, to allow sensitivity to become a pathway to truth.
A Toolkit for Resilience and Sovereignty
Rather than leaving participants suspended in awareness, Shaka offered a grounded, practical toolkit to support sensitive souls navigating chaotic times. Her guidance was not theoretical, but lived and embodied.
Participants were encouraged to explore:
-
Somatic and breath-based practices
-
Sacred boundaries and energetic hygiene
-
Low-stimulus creative activities
-
Time in nature and safe, intimate connection
-
Shadow work and inner child healing
-
Conscious consumption—not just of food and media, but of thoughts and energy
The resounding message: you are not here to carry the world. You are here to tend to your nervous system. Your presence—grounded, awake, and aware—is itself an offering.
Deepening the Work: Journaling as Integration
To support further reflection, Shaka left participants with three journaling prompts. These gentle questions became doorways into deeper understanding:
-
Reflect on a difficult experience you’ve moved through. What did it teach you?
-
Where might your greatest wound hold your greatest medicine? How could that become a source of healing for yourself or others?
-
If you could give yourself one loving thing right now, what would it be—and how could you offer it to yourself today?
There was no rush to answer. Only a soft encouragement to begin listening more closely.
A Pause That Becomes a Path
For those who couldn’t attend live, the full masterclass remains available as a recording—an open invitation to slow down, breathe, and return to yourself.
Whether you identify as an empath, a healer, or simply someone navigating the complexity of modern life, this session is a balm. A reminder that sensitivity is not weakness. It is the pulse of life itself, asking to be heard.
Continuing the Journey
The conversation doesn’t end here.
Cindy Holmes will be hosting our next live gathering, “Healing the Masculine and Feminine Within – Creating Inner Wholeness in Unstable Times” on Thursday, 29 May at 6pm UK / 7pm SAST.
