Your Energy Is Sacred – Reflections from The Seeker Series Masterclass
10 June 2025In a world that often pulls us in many directions, a daily spiritual practice can become a grounding force – an anchor of stillness, connection, and inner clarity. In our most recent masterclass, The Spiritual Seeker’s Toolkit, ISIH tutor Denis Ginn guided our community through a deeply practical and personal exploration of how to create a spiritual routine that truly fits your life.
Denis reminded us that spirituality isn’t a rigid structure or a to-do list – it’s a lived relationship with the self, with the unseen, and with the energy we bring into the world.
What Is a Spiritual Toolkit?
At its essence, a spiritual toolkit is your collection of daily practices that bring you back to yourself. It’s not about dogma. It’s not about doing it ‘perfectly.’ It’s about building something that feels like home.
Your toolkit might include:
- Meditation or mindfulness
- Breathwork
- Intentional journaling
- Time in nature
- Movement practices like yoga or Pilates
- Prayer, chanting, or ritual
- Creative expression
Denis shared: “Everything is energy. And energy flows where attention goes. When we pause to direct our energy consciously, we change our vibration – and over time, our lives.”
Start Where You Are
Many people hesitate to begin a spiritual practice because they feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start. Denis emphasised one clear message: start small, start simply, and start now.
You don’t need to meditate for an hour. You don’t need to chant in Sanskrit. You don’t need incense and a sacred altar (though you can have those too).
You need:
- A few moments of presence.
- An intention to connect.
- A willingness to try, consistently.
In Denis’s words: “Perfection isn’t the goal. Consistency is.”
Daily Practice Tips
Throughout the masterclass, Denis shared practical techniques and mindset shifts for building a spiritual routine:
- Breathe with purpose: Try the 4-7-8 breath technique (inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8). Just a few rounds can reset your nervous system.
- Create sacred space: Even a small corner with a candle, crystal, or affirmation can remind your subconscious to pause and connect.
- Anchor your intentions: Begin the day with a reflective question – “What do I need today?” or “What aspect of myself needs care?”
- Practice discernment: If something drains your energy, step back. If it expands you, lean in. Your heart is your guide.
A Reminder from the Heart
Denis led us through a beautiful Vipassana Loving-Kindness Meditation, extending peace from ourselves to our communities, and then to the world. In doing so, he reminded us of the global impact of inner peace.
“Peace is one of the highest vibrational frequencies. If we each commit to cultivating it within ourselves, we collectively raise the vibration of the planet.”
